The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly unhappy with Ajit Agarkar and his man-management of the Indian support staff. The board’s observations have come after India are trailing in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
India are trailing 2-1 in the series and the BCCI is unhappy with how Morne Morkel has been working with the Indian pacers. Anshul Kamboj’s doubtable selection in the fourth Test in Manchester has added all the more frustration for BCCI.
As per reports in the Telegraph bowling coach Morne Morkel and Ryan ten Doeschate are under the scanner and are under some criticism from the BCCI. Their role in the side has been questioned after they joined the team under Gautam Gambhir’s influence.

Morne Morkel, Ryan ten Doeschate To Be Axed
Both of them might stay with the team till the Asia Cup 2025 ends. However, after joining the team, both have not been able to deliver the results as expected. There is pressure on Gautam Gambhir as well who has just won four wins out of 13 matches before the Manchester Test started with as many as 8 losses. However, as per reports he is likely to stay on.
Kamboj’s questionable selection has been highlighted by the speeds at which he has bowled in the Test match. Most of his deliveries have been around 120-25 kmph, causing the England batters no trouble whatsoever. This in turn, has posed questions on Morkel’s work with the debutant. Notably, Kamboj was picked ahead of Arshdeep Singh who was picked in the original Test squad. He was also given a chance ahead of Harshit Rana and his selection was questioned by Aakash Chopra as well.
Another major question in terms of team selection under Gautam Gambhir has been around Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep was picked in the initial Test squad but has been benched for the first four Test matches.
“The coaches always talk of balance but keeping a world-class wrist spinner like Kuldeep Yadav out has had disastrous consequences,” the source remarked.

Shib Sundar Das Also Under Scanner Alongside Agarkar
Meanwhile, along with chief selector Ajit Agarkar, BCCI is also unhappy with East Zone selector Shib Sundar Das and the work he has done in terms of team selection.
"It is understood that the role of the two members of the national selection committee who are on tour with the squad, chairman Ajit Agarkar and East’s representative Shiv Sundar Das, has also come under introspection," the report added.
