Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have taken a swift action following pacer Taskin Ahmed's row, as they have decided to conduct workshop in August with all national cricketers to make them understand and learn the mandate of dos and dont's. BCB had to resort to taking this drastic step following the right-arm pacer's ugly controversy that is yet to be cracked.

A General Diary (GD) case has been filed against the Bangladeshi player at Mirpur Model Police Station on Monday, July 28, over accusations of assault and threats. The report was filed by Sifatur Rahman Sourave, which was confirmed by the same by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sajjadur Rahman of the same Mirpur Police Station.

According to the Police Official, the incident occurred on Sunday, July 27, in front of Sony Cinema Hall. "Taskin allegedly called Sifatur to the location, punched him, and issued threats," said the OC, citing the contents of the GD. "Police are currently investigating the matter," he added.

When Cricbuzz tried to reach Taskin, he denied all allegations filed against him, stating that those are false. "I can only say that the allegations are false and fabricated," he said.

BCB media chairman, Iftekhar Ahmed, issues a statement in the Taskin Ahmed row

Notably, BCB media chairman Iftekhar Ahmed has spoken on Tuesday after the Bangladeshi pacer's controversy. He said no action can be taken against Taskin unless and until he is proven guilty.

"Let Taskin be proven guilty first. There has been a case and it will be followed by an investigation. It is beyond the cricket board now. Taskin says that he is not involved in it. Now, the police will investigate it as there has been a GD. There will be an outcome, and let's wait for that," said Iftekhar.

"We are planning to hold a short workshop with national cricketers in August as we feel we must remind them what they can do and what they cannot considering they are not only cricketers rather they are also idols of many youngsters and are being followed by them so they have some accountability towards their fans," he added.

Taksin last featured for Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series against Pakistan. Currently, the matter of the pacer is under investigation, with BCB continuously monitoring it.
